Colossus (3. Semester)
The collection and the editorial photos are inspired by ‘The Colossus’, a poem written by American poet and novelist Sylvia Plath. The poem alludes to the ancient Greek idea of the colossus, which was a statue that represented a deceased person. The colossus editorial photos are meant to evoke the individual‘s presence as well as his / her absence.
"I shall never get you put together entirely,
Pieced, glued, and properly jointed.
Mule-bray, pig-grunt and bawdy cackles
Proceed from your great lips.
It's worse than a barnyard."
From ”The Colossus”, a poem by Sylvia Plath.
